MK-2 RC Camouflaged Sentry Turret

"The new MK-2 RC Sentry Turret takes scans from its surroundings to build 3D projections which lowers the risk of detection in any environment. Combine that with a modular anti material weaponhead and it becomes tthe bane of any intruder trying to set foot into it's perimiter"

As I was replaying Deus Ex: Mankind Devided I got the idea to do something like this. Haven't really created any textures with proper displacement maps in Substance Designer before so this was the perfect oppertunity to play around a little bit.
Also tried to hold back a little when it came to grunge, dirt and scratches.
Another thing I explored was makind the mesh mostly in zBrush with the zModeler. I used it regulary before but not to build a complete hard surface mesh. Gonna stick to a healthy mix of Maya and zBrush again going forward although it was fun.

Not too displeased with the result.

My thoughts behind this were, I wanted to make some kind of turret (took some inspiration from Deus Ex, since I'm replaying that right now) that uses an interesting way to camonflage itself. (let's just ignore all the bright lights and flashes. ;)

Since the head rotates the plates cant be static or unfortunate accidents that include self-inflicted bulletholes might occur. So mounting them on movable arms fixed that. Also helps the turret to adapt to different surroundings.

The displacement maps dont work like I'd want them to on the sketchfab model so I just didn't use them.
